1.What did David do to make sure he gets food?David would get food from the nurse.
2.In detail, tell me in details of the punishments he received at home.David had many punishments one of his punishments was to go to bed with out eating.3.How did his dad t to help?His dad said he would sneak him a couple of scraps. What do you think he could of done differently?I think he should of taken his son and took care of him and divorce his wife for the cruel things she did.4.What was his mom’s story and reason to the principle for David's abuse at home?David's moms' excuse to the principal was that he was really jealous of his brothers and would do bad things to get attention.5.How did his mom punish him in this chapter? Davids mom would punish him by making throw up food and eat it.6.What did she force him to eat?David's mom made him eat his brothers shit.7.Do you think his punishment is reasonable?I think his mom is insane and needs to get some serious help no child should have to go throught that much and plus he didnt even do anythin jus his apperence disguestes her for no reason.8.How do the other students treat him at school?At school the other students treat him horrible all the time he comes inside and they start looking at him nasty and just giving him weird looks.9.What were his plans to get food? Was it successful?David's plan was to steel the food from the store while he was at recess10.Why do you think his mom is not feeding him?I have no Idea why his would not feed, i think she is just trying to be cruel.11.How did his mom know he was eating?His mom knew that he had been eating because she had caught him digging threw the trash can eating12.What does dad do?The dad doesn't really do anything, He is weak and scared of his wife, I have no idea why the dad and the mom are getting divorce and now he’s leaving .13.Why doesn’t he help his son?He doesn't help his son because he is scared of his wife, he doesn't like being home and he drinks.14.Why does David hate his dad more than his mom?David hates his dad more because his dad did not do anything to help stop the horrible abuse that has been happening.15.What is David's next plan to get food ? Did it work?David's next plan was that he would get little portions of food out the fridge.16.What does mom end up feeding him? How does he respond to it? His mom ends up feeding him amonia, he tries to eating it even to he wants to fight it.

  1. What did Dave start to believe about a month before he entered the fifth grade?A month before he entered the fifth grade, that for him there was no god.
  2. When he was given the luxury of food he…when he was given luxury of food he ate like a homeless dog; grunting like an animal at mothers commands.
  3. During all the years Dave’s prayed to god, how many times did he answer his prayers?the years Dave prayed to god, god only answer his prayers once and that was to make his mother very ill.
  4. What had he asked god for when god answered his prayer?he asked god to make his mother very ill so she wouldn't beat him anymore.
  5. why does he call himself a robot? he calls himself a robot because,he has no feelings no emotions at all.
  6. How does David begin to change? David began to change he started acting out not listening getting smart and doing what he wanted.
  7. How does he feel about life and everything around him? the way he feels about life is he thinks he has no reason to live he wants to die already.

How does he feel about mom, dad and brothers?he just feels that his mother would die already, as for his brothers he look at them as not his brothers anymore and hi dad he doesn't care for him anymore because his dad use to be his hero but his dad doesn't help him in any way so he's not his hero anymore.

  10. Who is Aggie?aggies is a girl at school she show s off in front of her friends to make herself feel good and to get attention.
  11. What did Aggie tell him to do when they went on the trip?Aggie told him to jump off the boat.
  12. Why did Mr. Ziegler make a special effort to start treating Dave as a normal kid? Mr. Ziegler started treating David like a normal kid because he went and talked to some of the staff and they told him about his situation at home so he let him get away wit stuff.
  13. What did his mother say to him about how he could impress her? What did she consider him?when he got a good report his mother didn't think nothing of it she said that he is nothing and will never be nothing hes just a it and she wish he were dead just for doing good in school.
  14. How did he begin to purposefully irritate his mother?he purposefully irritated his mother by not wiping the bathroom floors left food on the dishes talked back to his brothers and whatever else he want to do.
  15. Why did his mother pack his fathers stuff?Mother packed fathers things because they were getting a divorce.
  16. How does his brother contribute to David’s abuse?his brothers contribute by stepping on his back for getting smart in the store and not listening to mother.
  17. What kept him sane? Why/what kept him sane was his little brother Kevin because he was so precious and he loved him so much.
  18. What would you do to keep yourself sane if you were in his shoes? I would have to my teachers at school.
  19. What happens to father towards the end? How does David feel about him?at the end father leaves,he hates him even more because he left and he didn't help him.

chapter 3 questions

What was David’s unfortunate luck of what? David’s unfortunate luck was getting caught at mischief, even though his brothers were committing the same crime.
2.Did his brother get the same punishments? Give example
No his brothers dose not get the same punishments as him. His brothers get treated better than him for example when they all are playing around mother only comes to him and yells a him for no reason and the other two continue to play.
3.What did Mother do to display a character change? Can you relate this to anyone in your life? Mother displayed her character as being a loving and caring mother in front of the boy scouts and the boys told the boy that they wish they have a mother like his. No I can not say I can relate this situation to anyone in my life.
4.What does it mean to him when he saw his mother in a nice dress? Seeing his mother in a nice dress means to him that she seems nicer when she's all dressed up she's not as mean.
5.What is the different between corner treatment and mirror treatment? Which one do you prefer? why?
the difference between the corner treatment and the mirror treatment is that the mirror treatment is more hurtful she bangs his face against the mirror and leaving his face against the mirror as he cry's dreadfully. I wouldn’t prefer neither because that cruel I would have ran away already.
6.What would he often fantasize about, why? He would often fantasize about being a happy family because he gets beat up for no reason and he doesn't know why.
7.How was life like with father around? Can you relate to him? When father is around he is like the little boys protector mother doesn't even pay attention to him.

the first major abuse from mother dislocated his arm . 10.Why did mom tell him to sleep top bunk? What was her plan?
Mother told him to sleep on the top because she broke his arm her plan was to take him to the hospital and say he fell off the top bunk bed.
11.What was school like for him? School for him was like freedom her was a free man there he loved to go to school his favorite was playing at recess.
12.even though mom treated him poorly, what was his feeling for her?
he loved his mother no matter what even when he was away from her he still wanted to with her and his family.
13.What happens when he tries to tell her his feelings? When he tries to tell her his feelings she gets more furious and beats him more.

if he wants to live he has to sit there and take the pain.

Chapter 1:The rescue
1.Describe the setting of the story
The setting takes place in the child's home.
2.Describe how mother is? What kind of character is she?
the mother is very mean and evil she hits her her children for no reason she is a child abuser character.
3.Provide 2 examples of how her character is.
her character is very cruel just hitting her child satisfy her another example of her character is she gets mad for no reason and takes her anger out on her son shes very cruel and evil.
4.How is he treated in school? Who takes care of him?
the child is treated very bad the students plug their noses an hiss at him.the teacher waves her hand in front of her face from the stench. his mom takes care of him but his mom is going to send him to live with his uncle her brother.

the boy's appearances is very smelly and disturbing he's worn the same close for 2 years.

the police came because the principle called after they seen all the bruises on the child.
Chapter 2: Good times
1.What does he compare his family to, why?
He compares his family to the Brady bunch of the 1960's.

Stephen Joseph his father who supported them as a fireman. Catherine Rovera mother she always had good ideas. brothers like playing outside with friends. Himself a boy that is alone in this world he is very confused.

he means that when his mom touches things there gold because she is gifted in everything she dose.

For Christmas they went all out and put up Christmas lights, ornaments and each year someone was honored to put the star on the top of the tree.

When he says everyday feels like a sprinkle of magic i s because everything was going good for him he was learning new things.

He felt safe and warm in his mother arms.
